A company's memorandum of association must contain a clause which delimits the general commercial objects of the company. The objects of a company are generally expressed in such a way as to give the company broad powers, for example:
- the object of the company is to carry on any trade or business whatsoever, and
- the company has power to do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the carrying on of any trade or business by it
